This presentation is a companion to the print material entitled "A Primer on Water Quality Credit Trading in the Mid-Atlantic Region" and is designed to provide presenter and audience with an overview of how trading works, what a trading program design must include, and topics worth discussing as state trading programs are developed.

An Overview of Nutrient Trading (June 2006)  Nutrient trading in Pennsylvania is a market-driven program intended to help remove pollutants through the most cost effective means.  This presentation provides the background for trading and some fundamentals in how a market-based program works.

Assessing Outcomes of Water Quality Trading Programs (May 2006)  Water quality trading programs are emerging throughout the country, each with its own specifics of what can be traded and how.  This presentation identifies the need for states and regions to develop meaningful evaluative programs to accompany their trading efforts.
